Meet Our Executive Team

Christian Sarno

Senior Safety and Risk Management Consultant

Mr. Sarno focuses on quantitative risk assessment (QRA) and facility siting for chemical companies. He also performs pressure relief and flare system (PRFS) design and analysis for large petrochemical corporations and utility companies. He has also acted as a process hazard analysis (PHA) leader and scribe for PHA revalidations for research and development-sized chemical processes. Mr. Sarno brings years of experience with Process Safety Office® SuperChems™ and Institute of Makers of Explosives Safety Analysis for Risk (IMESAFR) for QRA-based facility siting studies. He adheres to facility siting guidance as recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEPs) from API 752, API 753, and Chemical Industries Association (CIA) to ensure compliance with the OSHA PSM Standard. Mr. Sarno is a member of the National Honor Society for Chemical Engineering, Omega Chi Epsilon and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Project Sampling

Performed QRA-based evaluation on hydrogen fluoride release mitigation systems for a petrochemical refinery facilities.

Performed QRA on a catalyst skid which included pyrophoric materials for a rubber manufacturing facility.

Performed QRA-based facility siting studies for five ammonium nitrate and explosives manufacturing facilities.

Performs PRFS evaluation and design projects for clients in the petrochemical and public utilities industries focused on the handling of anhydrous ammonia.

Audited power production facility to evaluate compliance with the OSHA PSM standard.

Performed a gap assessment on the ammonia processing equipment at a specialty chemical facility.
