Ms. Anderson is a CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) with more than 45 years of broad-based chemical industry experience, and over 15 years of experience in process safety and health, safety and environment (HSE) management. Her extensive background includes plant operations, process safety and loss prevention, project management, continuous improvement, quality management, and environmental regulations. Ms. Anderson has facilitated numerous process hazard analyses (PHAs), including greenfield plants domestic and foreign, using various hazard identification techniques, including hazard and operability (HAZOP), layers of protection analysis (LOPA), What-if and Checklist technique.
Revised corporate PHA procedures to include LOPA for high risk scenarios and probability of ignition in the initiating event frequency to better rank hazard analysis scenarios. Led significant incident and near miss investigations in the US and China including chemical release, tank failures, fires, fired-heaters and boiler incidents. This included leading incident investigations remotely for the China facility by directing independent expert personnel on site to collect evidence and pertinent data. Additional interviews were conducted virtually. Lead teams that developed corporate process safety policies/procedures including Management of Change (MOC) Policy, and Reactive Chemical Policy which gives guidance on screening reactive chemicals issues and inclusion in hazard reviews. Acted as a process safety SME for sites in the United States (US), Europe, and Asia and provided guidance in identifying and communicating risk throughout the organization. Led Mechanical Integrity Team, which initiated implementation of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) programs. Led numerous pre-start up safety reviews (PSSR) including reviews for new production facilities in the US and China, and trained new engineers on proper ways to conduct PSSRs. Member of a due diligence team for an acquisition in China, which included process safety evaluation and cost estimates for integration.
