The Risk Management Program (RMP) underwent substantial amendments that were announced by the EPA on March 11, 2024, and went into effect on May 11, 2024. This presentation will addresses the EPA’s changes to requirements related to Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) and new technical approaches and compliance strategies to meet requirements for process hazard analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Information (PSI) elements under the RMP Rule.

This presentation will address the EPA’s updates to the facility (stationary source) siting evaluation undertaken as part of a facility’s process hazard analysis (PHA). Along with implementation of new technical approaches and compliance strategies for facility siting, clarity on what constitutes “proximate sources” and managing sensitive security information will be discussed.
